Our plot of Beaune "Perrières" measures 1,32 ha. The clay-limestone soils of "Perrières", which are shallow and poor due to the steep inclination, produce a powerful and structured red wine with a perfect ageing potential.
- FermentationTraditional in open vats
- Ageing10 to 12 months ageing in oak barrels, 35% new
- BarrelsLouis Latour cooperage, French oak, medium toasted
- Tasting NoteIntense in colour, this wine has a complex yet elegant nose of blackcurrant, liquorice and light oak. It is a rounded wine with elegant tannins and lots of freshness on the back-palate. This is a great example of Pinot Noir. (Tasted November 2011)

- Beaune 1er Cru "Perrières" 2022 - James Suckling - 95/100
For Beaune this is a very deep and positively ripe wine, yet it moves rather light-footedly over the medium- to full-bodied palate. A wealth of black cherry and forest berry fruit is wrapped around the lovingly crafted tannin structure. So much power and concentration, but also a stunning freshness in the very long finish. So hard to resist. Drink or hold. (Stuart Pigott, June 2024)
- Beaune 1er Cru "Perrières" 2020 - James Suckling - 97/100 pts
Such a fragrant and generous Beaune Premier Cru with a wonderful balance of full fine tannins and ample cherry fruit, the balance spot-on. Very long finish, supported by an abundance of powdery tannins. So much energy and excellent aging potential. Drink or hold.
- Beaune 1er Cru "Perrières" 2020 - The World of Fine Wine - 91-92/100 pts
This domaine wine has a perfumed, lifted, red fruit aroma. Rather elegant and pure. It has a light body and gentle tannins. There is the freshness and zestyness of ripe red-currant fruit, and a bright, crunchy note to finish. Most atractive and forward. 2024-30.
- Beaune 1er Cru "Perrières" 2020 - Wine Review Online - USA - 95/100
The 7.5- acre Les Perrières vineyard lies high up on the slope in a cooler locale, which may help explain this wine's bright energy in a hot year like 2020. Though tightly wound, as expected from a young top premier cru, its stature shows with gorgeous mineral-scented aromatics and
impressive length. Engaging red fruit flavors intermingled with clear stony notes - the site was an ancient quarry - are clearly heard. Pure and precise, it's a winner. (Michael Apstein, December 2020) - Beaune 1er Cru "Perrières" 2020 - Wine Spectator Insider - August 2022 - 93/1000
Bright and focused, exuding blackberry, black cherry, violet and mineral flavors. Nicely balanced and harmonious, with a refined structure contributing to the overall nesse. Terrifc length. Best from 2024 through 2042. -B.S.
- Beaune 1er Cru "Perrières" 2019 - 95 pts - James Suckling - July 2021
Lovely red fruit and a very silky personality make this very easy to enjoy. However, this is sophisticated wine with very fine tannins. Very long, filigree finish. Drink or hold.
- Beaune 1er Cru "Perrières" 2017 - Burghound.com - USA - April 2019 - 91/100
- Beaune 1er Cru "Perrières" 2017 - Burgundy Report, Bill Nanson (UK) - January 2019 - "Super"
That's a lovely nose, lots of florality - another wine that's intense, with great freshness and needs time to be less intense' - super. To wait for, great line of flavour. (Bill Nanson, UK)
- Beaune 1er Cru "Perrières" 2016 - William Kelley, Wine Advocate (USA) - January 2019 - 90/100
The 2016 Beaune 1er Cru Perrières is showing well, offering up aromas of cherry, cassis, candied peel and subtle hints of coniferous forest floor. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy, with tangy acids and fine but chalky tannins that assert themselves on the sapid finish. It's very true to type and will give pleasure for over a decade. Crink 2018-2028
- Beaune 1er Cru "Perrières" 2016 - The World of Fine Wine - March 2018 - 91/100
A closed nose gives a faint but pure note of ripe, dark cherry. The palate has a promise of deeper fruit, something plush and fine as its core. There is lovely, bright freshness, concentration, and a firm hold of fine tannin. Lovely. - Anne Krebiehl MW
- Beaune 1er Cru "Perrières" 2016 - Jancis Robinson - January 2018 - 15/20Drink 2019-2015
- Beaune 1er Cru "Perrières" 2015 - Wine Enthusiast - November 2017 - 93/100
Among the most northerly of the run of Beaune premier crus, the wine is structured but the structure is cushioned by the ripe red-berry fruits to give a generous wine. (USA)
- Beaune 1er Cru "Perrières" 2012 - Burghound.com - April 2014 - "An agreeable texture"The nose offers up notes of plum, violets, earth and a hint of herbal tea. The palate impression is quite round and fleshy with an agreeable texture that carries over to the ever-somildly rustic finish that displays fine length. 2018+ By Allen Meadows (USA)
- Beaune 1er Cru "Perrières" 2014 - Wine Spectator - October 2016 - 90/100
A mix of earth and sour cherry defines this red, picking up a light herbaceous note on the finish. Right now this shows an outer shell and inner tension, but the two need time to integrate. Best from 2018 through 2024. By Bruce Sanderson (USA)
- Beaune 1er Cru "Perrières" 2013 - Burgundy Report - December 2014 - "Super intensity"Deep colour. High-toned but with a mineral, graphitic depth. Large in the mouth - very concentrated and with super intensity - you almost forget that the texture is so silky, such is your focus on the intensity. A mouth-watering, linear finish. An excellent start!
- Beaune 1er Cru "Perrières" 2012 - Wine Spectator - Juin 2015 - 91/100A polished
version, showing integrated elements of cherry and spice, bright acidity and
ripe tannins. Harmonious and long, with hints of tar and licorice in the
finish. Best from 2016 through 2025.
- Beaune 1er Cru "Perrières" 2011 - Wine Spectator - June 2014 - 89/100The cherry core and silky texture are compromised by the stern tannins in this young red. All the components are here but need time to integrate. Best from 2016 through 2024. By Bruce Sanderson (USA)
- Beaune 1er Cru "Perrières" 2010 - Tom Cannavan's wine-pages.com - August 2015 - 90/100
Quite dense, almost chocolaty, with a real ripeness and richness and depth of fruit (the first 2010 of this line up). The palate is fleshy and plush, a big plum and blackberry ripeness, but it has a solid if slightly baked feel, plenty of smooth and silky tannin and sufficient acidity. Not as elegant as some of the lighter vintages, but impressive and Beaune like. (UK)
- Beaune 1er Cru "Perrières" 2010 - Wine Spectator - October 2013 - 91/100Round and fleshy, this offers pure cherry and raspberry flavors, with a touch of floral and spice. Well-integrated and long, echoing spice and light mineral notes. Drink now through 2018.
- Beaune 1er Cru "Perrières" 2009 - Wine Spectator - June 2012 - 93/100Rich and juicy, this is already expressing complex cherry and berry flavors, with accents of spice and mineral. Supple and elegant, yet fresh and well-integrated, with a long, fruit- and spice-filled aftertaste. Best from 2014 through 2027. (USA)
- Beaune 1er Cru "Perrières" 2009 - Jancis Robinson - January 2011 - 15.5/20Mid ruby. Sweet, almost roasted fruit on the front palate. Drink 2013-2016 (UK)
- Beaune 1er Cru "Perrières" 2008 - Wine Spectator - May 2011 - 90/100Oak spice offsets the juicy raspberry note in this vibrant red. Just a touch dry on the finish, but the fruit and elegant profile is compelling, with a fruity aftertaste. (USA)
- Beaune 1er Cru "Perrières" 2007 - Jamie Goode's Wineanorak - April 2010 - 90/100Sweet herbal cherry fruit nose. The palate has ripe fruit with a distinctive herbal, spicy character. A bit peppery. Nicely savoury style. (UK)
- Beaune 1er Cru "Perrières" 2007 - Wine Spectator - November 30th 2009 - 90/100Shows dark and inviting aromas and flavors of black cherry, black currant and mineral. Round and polished, with lingering oak tannins and spice on the finish. Best from 2010 through 2020. By Bruce Sanderson (USA).
- Beaune 1er Cru "Perrières" 2007 - Burghound.com - April 2009 - 88-90/100Mild reduction detracts from the purity of the nose which is built primarily on red berry fruit and earth notes, the latter of which is picked up by the supple, round and notably more concentrated medium-bodied flavors that are nicely detailed and reveal a discreet touch of backend minerality on the firmer and more persistent finish. 2013+. By Allen Meadows (USA).
